Stop Smoking Hypnosis Seminar: What’s Your Best Hypnosis Option?

A stop smoking hypnosis seminar isn’t for everyone, but many people have found it to be an effective way to quit. When someone decides to quit smoking, hypnosis probably isn’t the first idea that pops into their head. There are several options in addition to hypnosis, such as nicotine replacement therapy, acupuncture, or just going cold turkey. However, the high success rate of smoking cessation hypnosis tends to get people’s attention. There are group hypnosis sessions (seminars), one on one sessions, and self hypnosis. Each one has their pros and cons.

Stop Smoking Hypnosis Seminar

Smoking cessation seminars can be a great way to kick the habit. You’ll pay a small registration fee and meet with a small group of others who have decided to quit. You can all share your experiences and bounce ideas off of each other on how to make the change permanent. Then, the hypnotist get you all in a trance and make suggestions to your subconscious mind on how and why quitting is easy and why smoking is not appealing. Because you’re in a hypnotized state, your mind will be more receptive to these suggestions.

There are downsides to stop smoking hypnosis seminars. The hypnotists tend to be less professional than those in a private practice. There is also a very small chance that you are getting scammed, so if you decide to go to one, do your homework before registering.

Pros: lower cost, good for meeting with other future ex-smokers
Cons: possibility of being scammed, no follow up sessions, bad for people who need a more intimate experience

Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy

Here you will have a one-on-one session with a trained hypnotherapist. He will do the same thing as a therapist in a seminar, but since it is only with you, he can custom tailor the session to your particular needs, and be more attentive to your state. Of course this personal attention comes with a higher price tag, but it also comes with a higher chance of success.

Pros: done by a professional, good for people who need a more intimate experience
Cons: high cost, may need unexpected follow up sessions, bad for those who thrive on social support

Stop Smoking Self Hypnosis

It is possible to hypnotize yourself. You know yourself better than anyone, and any suggestions you make to yourself during a session will likely stick very well, because you’re the one that came up with them. However, inducing yourself into the relaxed and aware state that is necessary to perform self hypnosis takes some getting used to. It also takes more time and work on your part to learn everything you need to know to make this option effective.

Pros: lowest cost hypnosis option, complete privacy, as many follow up sessions as necessary
Cons: steeper learning curve, not done by a professional

Investigating all your options before you make a decision is always a good idea. Do the benefits of a stop smoking hypnosis seminar outweigh the disadvantages for you? Just don’t consider too long! You’ve made a healthy, smart decision to quit smoking. Back it up with some sort of smoking cessation program so it doesn’t just become “that day I decided to quit but didn’t.”
